For today's post I am going to share with you some great activities that I found searching on the Internet and that in my opinion are really useful for learning POLYGONS in a Primary class.

Apps geometría y matemáticas

Para el post de hoy, incluiré algunas apps que considero relevantes en los días que estamos ya que cada vez más las nuevas tecnologías cobran más vida en las aulas, es por ello que a medida que pasen los años se incrementará el número de clases en las que se den fundamentalmente las clases con Ipads o tablets y se irán omitiendo los libros.

Tangram Chino

Hoy voy a incluir en el blog un recurso bastante interesante, se trata de un tangram y es una actividad muy completa ya que incluye diferentes aspectos que podemos tratar en clase, dependiendo en la forma en que esté planteada la actividad. 

Para ello, vamos a pedir a los alumnos que identifiquen y clasifiquen cada pieza del tangram. Después de ello, les pediremos que construyan su propio tangram en cartulina, o bien, utilizar un tangram de plástico del colegio.

Después,  jugaremos con las piezas para formar distintos polígonos.

Piktochart.

Hello, for today , I am going to talk a bit of the resource PIKTOCHART.

What is piktochart?

Piktochart is a web-based infographic application which allows users without intensive experience as graphic designers to easily create professional-grade infographics using themed templates. 

In other words, is a really easy and interesting resource in which we can créate new material for different aspects in classrooms. In it, we can include videos, photos and information so is a really easy way to explain concepts in an original way.

If we want to create a Piktochart, we should SIGN UP first, putting our email account our name and a few more information. After that, we can create our Piktocharts, original ones or we can also use Templates, which are and easier way to do it.

Resources for polygons in Primary

Hello, for today's post I have prepared some resources for Primary teachers when they are explaining in class the POLYGONS. 

This first one is a song, in which it is explained the main characteristics of each polygon. In my opinion, when the kids are listening to a song, they acquire meaningful knowledge because at the same time that they sing and have a goos time they are learning and revising contents. 

Here we have another one, with the same concepts. Maybe we could use it when they get tired of the same song, so we can play this one and continue revising polygons but with another rythm and song. 

Another good resource in my opinon, to revise polygons is this didactic game. We could develop it when we go to the IT classroom, and we could divide children by pairs, so they could help each other and acquire a significant and relevante knowledge. 

In this game, what they have to do is to match the pairo, for example if they see "square" they have to click also on the place where they think that the square is. They have many opportunities.
